Nurturing Yourself

The only person who can pull me down is myself, and I’m not going to let myself pull me down anymore.”
C. JoyBell C.

Our relationship with our self is the closest and most important relationship we will ever have.

By maintaining a healthy relationship with our self, we will also have the means to build healthy relationships with others. Strengthening our self-relationship can make an everlasting change in our life. There are many ways that we can work on a self-relationship for happiness and wellness.

Do you pay attention to your own feelings and not just to other people? One way to get to know yourself better is to spend quality time with yourself. By spending a few quiet moments with yourself, you can begin to assess your behaviour, your thought process and determine the endless possibilities of your personal growth. This will lead to a better understanding of yourself and allow you to perform better self-care.

Take time during each day to discover things about yourself. Think about the changes you need to make to yourself for your own well-being. Commit to these changes by encouraging yourself to take better care of your own needs and wants. Doing this on a regular basis can make a huge difference in your life.

The more that you learn about yourself, the better you will be at getting along with others. This is because most people will treat others the way that they treat themselves. For example, if you are critical with your own behaviours, you are probably critical of how others behave. By becoming more tolerable of yourself, you become more tolerant of others and others will become more tolerant of you in the process.

Begin to nurture and care about your own needs, as much as possible. It is never selfish to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself and put yourself in front of others at times. Doing what another person wants against your better interest will only lead to resentment and frustration in the long term.

How do you define taking care of yourself? Create a new self care practice today. When you becomes your own best friend life is easier.

”There are days when I drop words of comfort on myself like falling leaves and remember it is enough to be taken care of by my self.”
