With Open Eyes

“Funny how when your life is mostly bullshit, you turn off feeling. Sometimes it’s hard to turn it back on again.”
Ellen Hopkins

When you go to bed at night, do you go to sleep being satisfied with the day’s events or you try to tire yourself out so you do have the energy to even think before switching off? Many people do that. This is a thing I am working on, so I do not have to question whether I wasted yet another precious day of my life.

Awareness of what we are doing is the most important thing in life. Being aware is life. We often switch it off so it will be easier to go about the same daily chores and duties but then at some point we forget to switch it back on and it becomes less demanding to just go through the lists and tasks all the time.

When we are drifting through life we do not experience passion, excitement of the day beginning again and going to bed with the satisfaction of the job well done. You stop noticing beauty in the world and you have zero desire to try anything new rendering it unimportant and dull.

Wake up. It is time to live your life. Enjoy the moment, this moment is unique and it holds endless opportunities to make choices; embrace changes and call that beautiful inner person inside of you out. In the end, it will not matter how you lived your life and it will not matter to anyone what you have achieved or earned… in the end it will only matter if you had fewer regrets of a life lived not time wasted.

“Life without a purpose is a languid, drifting thing; every day we ought to review our purpose, saying to ourselves, ‘This day let me make a sound beginning, for what we have hitherto done is naught!’”
Thomas Kempis
