Making time for yourself is an easy way to reboot your energy levels and keep your stress levels low. Here are a few ideas to benefit your body, mind, and spirit.

Take a few moments to stretch during the day, this helps to prevent stiffness, increases blood circulation, and gives you a boost of energy. Try this out: Stand up and, taking a deep breath, raise your arms and reach for the sky; hold. Then release the stretch, exhaling and dropping your arms. Beginning with the crown of your head, roll down, vertebrae by vertebrae, until you are hanging forward. Let your arms dangle. Shake and nod your head gently to loosen the neck. Without locking your knees, feel the stretch in the back of your thighs. Enjoy the stretch for a few moments.

Go outdoors, the fresh air, open space, and presence of plants (even just a few) is grounding, energy-expanding, and connecting, If possible, letting your bare feet touch the ground for extra energy benefits. You will absorb negatively charged electrons from the soil, which balance positively charged free radicals that may lead to inflammation, says Stephen Sinatra, an integrative cardiologist and author of Reverse Heart Disease Now.

After a long day, a warm bath sets the stage for a peaceful, restorative night’s sleep by signaling your body that it is time to rest. Enhance the experience by using relaxing herbal bath products. After soaking, wrap yourself in a comfortable robe and cosy slippers for a truly soothing evening ritual.

Sometimes, you just have to slow down a minute to recharge your body and mind. A few moments of quiet can work wonders. Give it a try!

‘Some days I just need to take a step back and take some time for me, Be me, Love me, Pamper me, Nurture me, and Recharge my Soul.’
