True Forgiveness
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
Mahatma Gandhi

Forgiveness is choosing happiness over hurt, we can either have acceptance or resistance. I know myself, holding on to the hurt, prolongs and intensifies the pain.

It is about acknowledging the fact that we are all mistaken at times; sometimes even the best of us do foolish things – things that have negative consequences. But it does not mean we are bad and unforgiveable. It might take time to forgive, because it takes strength to forgive.

When we let go and forgive the situation, we are then able to move forward to a better place. I love the wise words of Mark Twain, ”forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.”

“True forgiveness is when you can say, “Thank you for that experience.”
Oprah Winfrey
