Saying Yes

“i imagine that yes is the only living thing.”
E.E. Cummings

As we go through life it is all too easy to think we know what is best for us. However I try to remind myself that is is vital to keep an open mind to new ideas and experiences.

Say ‘yes’ to your needs. ‘Yes’ to the need for more time to yourself, more exercise, more love, fewer sweets, and less anger.

As they say, a ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for. Accepting some level of risk in our life is important. We cannot be both close minded and wise. We need to be open up to the unknown.

Close minded people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism is a self imposed blindness, a rejection of the world that occurs when we are afraid it will hurt us or let us down.

Focus on saying ‘yes’ to opportunities. Saying ‘yes’ begins things. Saying ‘yes’ can lead you to grow and develop. Saying ‘yes’ leads to experience and knowledge. ‘Yes’ is for strong, open minded people.

Say ‘yes’ to being alive. ‘Yes’ to life. ‘Yes’ to your own life. ‘Yes’ each day. ‘Yes’ to each minute.

There are an infinite number of reasons to say no. Instead, try to focus on one good reason to say yes.”
