‘Difficulties are opportunities to better things, they are stepping stones to greater experience. Perhaps some day you will be thankful for some temporary failure in a particular direction. When one door closes, another always opens, as a natural law it has to be, to balance.’
Brian Adams

Life can be unpredictable and difficult. That is the fundamental truth we all must learn to accept. In that acceptance, lies strength. Bad things can happen in life. Only a fool would think that we can control all the events that life throws at us.

We cannot find peace by avoiding life. Life gives us unexpected changes every day; so instead of avoiding it, take every change and experience as a challenge for growth. Either it will give us what we want or it will teach us what the next step is.

Finding contentment and happiness in life does not mean to be in a place where there is no challenges, and no hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things while remaining calm. It is about letting go of the pictures in your head about how things were ‘supposed to be.’

Life is too short to spend at war with our self. The biggest disappointments in our lives are often the result of misplaced expectations. Letting go of needless expectations is our first step to happiness. Coming from a mindset of peace and acceptance, we can deal with almost anything and grow beyond it. This being an infinitely more satisfying journey, leading you to contentment and happiness.

‘The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.
M. Scott Peck
