“Humans see what they want to see.”
Rick Riordan

Many of us use self deception and delude ourselves as a way of avoiding having to deal with issues about ourselves, our circumstances or people around us. What we often do not realise is that this locks us in to a cycle of self sabotage and poor self esteem that blocks our ability to move forward in our lives and prevents us living our dreams.

You know deep down if you have been lying to yourself. You know what you believe and whether or not you are honouring it. You know what your values are and whether or not you are upholding them.

Only you can decide to get brave, stop the lying, and start being the person you know you want to be – in thoughts, words, and actions.

Being honest does not mean that you have to confront all of your demons at once, but it does require that you make an honest start at identifying where your issues lie and accepting what they are. By identifying them you are able to deal with them and through growth, reach your true potential.

“Stop lying to yourself. When we deny our own truth, we deny our own potential.”
Steve Maraboli
