“I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn’t make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet.”
A decision is more than a wish. When you decide to get something done, it will get done. When you truly decide, it is more than just a vague intention. It is more than saying you are going to do it. It is more than hoping to get it done someday. It is a commitment that you make to yourself. When you truly decide, it will happen.
The first step is deciding. Or, rather, deciding what changes you want to make in your life.
Making decisions is often difficult. And procrastination is easy, at least for the moment, but there is no reward in procrastination.
Your ability alone will not get us there, nor will all the resources in the world, by themselves. You must decide to get yourself there. Then it will happen.
Remember, once you have decided what you want in life you know nothing less will do. With action and determination, success will follow.
“The decide word is so powerful. It’s amazing what you can do once you decide to do it.”
