To Forgive

.
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
Mahatma Gandhi

.
Forgiveness is nothing more than a decision. It is a decision to let go of a resentment, to lessen the grip of a hurt that was perpetrated on you, and to allow yourself to focus on more positive things.

.
To forgive is to give our self a chance to grow. Forgiveness is not holding on to someone who hurt you; it is coming to peace with what happened and moving forward with your life.

.
When you forgive, it is good for your health. Letting go of the anger reduces your anxiety and stress levels. It also improves our psychological well-being when we stop carrying that negative energy.

.
Forgiving does not mean we are being a doormat and letting people step all over us. You are simply taking charge of your own life, casting out negative feelings and focusing on positive ones.

.
Try to forgive those who have hurt you in the past, but even more than this, forgive yourself for allowing them to hurt you. You are one step ahead of others who are still holding on to old grudges that are holding them back.

.
Find the strength that is within to set yourself free.

.
“Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.”
Paul Boese
