“What consumes your mind, controls your life.”
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was speaking at conference recently, when someone from the audience asked the Dalai Lama why he didn’t fight back against the Chinese.
He simply smiled and said, “Well, war is obsolete, you know.” After a few moments he added, “The mind can rationalize fighting back, but the heart… the heart would never understand. If you fight, then you yourself would be divided (the heart and the mind), and then the war would be inside you.’‘
The difference between your mind and your heart: Your mind tells you what is smart and your heart tells you what you’re going to do anyway.
“The heart has its reasons which reason knows not.”
