A Peaceful Mind

‘We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.’
Dalai Lama XIV

When we change our thoughts, we change our life. The fastest way to a  achieve peaceful mind is to change our way of thinking.

In order to change our outer world we must first change our inner world. Our thoughts dictate our behaviour, and when we change our thought patterns, we are changing our behavioral patterns as well. Altering our behaviour changes the course of our life.

Communication is a key element in keeping peace and harmony in our life. Good communication eliminates being misunderstood, and helps prevent stressful situations. Saying what you mean not only gives you a sense of peace, also earns the respect from others when they know you are true to your word.

Organising your surroundings, and managing your time wisely helps give you a clear head for making wise choices. How can you make a wise decision if your thoughts are cluttered and unorganized? Start to organise your life, and see how fast you change the quality of your life.

Acceptance is crucial for peace of mind. Accepting that there are few guarantees in the world and learning to deal uncertainty is a huge leap in the peace-of-mind stakes. Differentiate between what you can and cannot control.

And remember, the more we like ourselves, the greater our peace of mind. We accept ourselves more and feel at ease in the world, no matter what situation we find ourselves in. We experience less insecurity and as a result, our inner peace is heightened.

Make time to get out into the fresh air….it can do you a world of good and promote peace of mind. Take a break and get the blood pumping – especially when the sun is shining. Find your inner peace today.

‘Inside myself is a place where I live all alone, and that’s where you renew your springs that never dry up.’
Pearl S. Buck
