Holding Back

”We all have fears, make sure they are not holding you back from living a passion-filled, purposeful life.”
Dr. Wayne Dyer

We are what we believe we are, and we can do what we believe we can do.

There is an interesting connection between our conscious mind and our subconscious. Our subconscious is tasked with the responsibility of making what we consciously believe is true, actually come true; at least to the best of our subconscious mind’s ability to make it true.

So, if we think we can do something, we can. And, if we think we can’t, we can’t. Do you give it your all in life? At everything you do?

Do you love openly and fully in your relationships…or do you hold yourself back out of a fear being hurt?

Most people hold themselves back in some way, in some aspect of life, whether they know it or not.

Are you holding yourself back at key moments in life just because you fear being rejected? You might want to ask yourself why. Often a fear of being rejected stems from a tiny lack of self-confidence.

Solution: Do not look to other people to validate you, your thoughts, or actions. Go for what you want and realise that if you are ‘rejected’ that it is the universe telling you that there is a better, more constructive way for you to achieve your goals…you just have not found it yet. Whatever you do, do not give up. Think of rejection as a merge left or merge right sign, not a stop sign.

The truth is you get out of life what you put into it. If you are holding back because of fear, you will get less satisfying results just because you are afraid of being hurt. You may feel safe and comfortable where you are but in order to move ahead, it means leaving your comfort zone and sailing into uncharted waters. Our best life is one lived with risk, so let yourself go.

Do one thing today that you have been holding back from doing.

‘Only you can hold yourself back, only you can stand in your own way. Only you can help yourself.’
