Pulling Yourself Down

.
If you pull yourself down, down is where you will stay.’

.

How we treat ourselves forms the basis for all our relationships. Focus on being kind and patient with yourself. Do you tend to be hard on yourself? Many of us have this tendency, however, this will not bring happiness. It really is counterproductive. Encouragement and praise reap far better results than judgement and criticism.

.
I believe that you would not treat your best friend the way you probably treat yourself, would you? Start noticing any negative self talk and find a way to think kinder. more productive thoughts.

.
Being kind to yourself is vital. Being constantly unkind to our self erodes our confidence, diminishes our self worth, and extinguishes our individuality. Giving all your kindness away and reserving none for your own body, mind, and soul leaves you dry and empty. Eventually, you will have nothing left to give.

.
Be gentle and accepting with yourself and self love will evolve. Self love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our growth. When we act in ways that expand self love in us, we begin to accept our weaknesses as well as our strengths. We have less need to explain away our short-comings, have more compassion for ourselves as human beings. This leads us to be  more centered in our life purpose and values, and find more fulfillment.

.

What does being kind to yourself look like? Make some time for yourself today.

.
‘The only person who can pull me down is myself, and I’m not going to let myself pull me down anymore.’
