.
“Whether you say you can’t or you can, you’re right.”
Walt Disney Company

.
How we think sets our limits….Powerless people have one thing in common: they love to use the word ‘can’t‘. Maybe they have used it so often that it is natural for them but ‘can’t’ is a dis-empowering word. When ‘can’t’ is used, all progress and creativity stops. It is a declaration that there is no other solution and that is the way it is going to be.

.
I believe it is merely a shortcut for three possible meanings;

.
I Don’t Want to
‘I can’t go to the concert tonight.’ = ‘I don’t want to go to the concert tonight, I would rather stay home and relax.’

.
I Don’t Know How
‘I can’t speak Spanish’ = ‘I don’t know how to speak Spanish.’

.
I Don’t Believe I Can
‘I can’t lose weight.’ = ‘Even though I know the method for losing weight and I want to lose it, I don’t believe I can lose weight.’

.
If you are not where you want to be, ask yourself why not? If your answer contains ‘can’t’, is it because you don’t want to, you don’t know how to or you don’t believe you can.

.
Next time you hear yourself saying ‘I can’t’, stop and think why and work around it.

.
“Never say that you can’t do something, or that something seems impossible, or that something can’t be done, no matter how discouraging or harrowing it may be; human beings are limited only by what we allow ourselves to be limited by: our own minds. We are each the masters of our own reality; when we become self-aware to this: absolutely anything in the world is possible.

.
Master yourself, and become king of the world around you. Let no odds, chastisement, exile, doubt, fear, or ANY mental virii prevent you from accomplishing your dreams. Never be a victim of life; be it’s conqueror.”
Mike Norton
