Excepting Yourself

“When you’re comfortable in your own skin…you’re beautiful. Confidence is the best makeup you could ever wear.”
Mandy Hale

Imagine being so comfortable in your own skin, knowing clearly who you are and feeling proud to share that authentic you with the world. Imagine being sustained by an inner source of joy – not the smiley, fluffy sort of happiness we sometimes associate with the word ‘joy,’ but the rich, beefy, substantial flavour of joy that comes with self knowledge and self appreciation.

Being truely yourself is fundimental. Begin by doing work to get clear about who you are – not just who you routinely consider yourself to be, the person you usually show the world – but who you are in the deepest recesses of your authentic heart and soul. What really makes you tick?

Make a list of the things you need to do to take care of yourself so you feel healthy and grounded, and then schedule them into your day. It is easier to feel good about who you are when you make your needs priorities.

I believe by becoming more authentic we open ourselves to more – joy, success, to better health and energy. You are not doing this to better serve the world; you are doing it to better serve you. But it also happens to be the best way to serve your loved ones and the world as well.

Commit to begin finding yourself. When you endeavor to be who you really are and are true to yourself, you will automatically feel more attractive and unique. Remember, the power to be beautiful lies not in the eyes of others. It comes from deep within you.

“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
