Doubting You Can

“Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.”
Suzy Kassem

Do those pesky self doubts ever stop you from doing something you long to do? That little voice in your head whispering…“Who are you to even think I can do that?”

I believe the first step is recognising that what we are feeling is self doubt. What may seem like an obstacle is most likely self doubt kicking in to justify why you can’t or shouldn’t do something. We have all said, “I don’t have time,” or, “I don’t have the energy,” or “I don’t know how.” If we are honest: those are the things we tell ourselves when we do not think we are up to it. But by recognising that self doubt is holding you back, not your busy schedule, you are one step closer to rekindling your self confidence.

When we let self doubt take over, we make excuses for our inability to realise our full potential. We use these excuses to prove our self doubts correct by not even trying to achieve success.

To over come this we need to prove to our self that we can be successful. Simply commit yourself to acheiving a simple, easy goal. Improve your health by drinking more water…. commit to drinking 6 glasses of water each day as a way to improve your health. As you generate small wins for yourself, it helps you gain momentum, which gradually closes down the self doubt. As these achievements add up you become more confident in your abilities and begin to believe in yourself more.

Your self doubt is only as strong as you allow it to be. Find trust in yourself and push the doubts out as your self belief grows. Stretch yourself today to improve your self belief….prove to yourself that you are more than you think you are.

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.”
J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan
