Counting The Good Things

‘If you count all your assets, you always show a ‘profit.”
Robert Quillen

So often we are caught up in the business of our daily life we ignore what really matters. Take a minute, sit down and just reflect on what you appreciate and love about your partner, a friend or a family member. Doing so will fill you with gratitude and redirect your focus to a positive appreciation of things.

Express your appreciation. Tell that person what you came up with. It will brighten their day. And as their face lights up with a big smile you will feel  happier too because emotions are contagious.

Take some minutes to think how you can help someone out. Offer some practical help, some good advice, look something up for them, be encouraging and supportive or just lend a listening ear.

Remember to slow down. Walk, slowly for these few minutes. Let your thoughts slow down. Use the time to enjoy what is happening around you. Stand still, listen and take it all in.

There are many simple wonders we miss each day because we are so preoccupied with our thoughts and plans for the future. There are some things in life that matter and often we do not take the time to recognise the difference.

Take the time today to stop and listen and to see those things that matter most to you……

”It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
