Improving Yourself

‘You will have fewer regrets in life if you start focusing and taking responsibility for where you are and where you want to be.’
Deborah Day

I often write about wanting to grow, wanting to be better. Personal development is the process of achieving and expanding our full potential.

Personal growth is a journey. Once we are on the pathway we will come up against various obsticles from with in our self. We doubt ourselves being a significant one.

Along our journey we go throw various stages of development:

Self doubt is one of the biggest obstacles standing in our way. As we move towards our goals our negative self beliefs often get in the way. They raise doubts and create internal resistance. We wonder if we are indeed capable of change as the mind struggles to find the evidence that a new way is possible.

Internal Conflict is often felt as we choose to embrace the new ideas, a tug-of-war with the past and all that we have been. However, if we use our growing knowledge and understanding, we keep moving forwards.

Acceptance and integration of new ideas come as a result of patience, practice and perseverance. Acceptance enables us to let go of what we are unable to change and change the things we can. It makes us whole and as a result we are able to find a better understanding of ourselves, which leads to peace and contentment.

A contented mind knows itself, with a lack of internal conflict it is able to see clearly. Self awareness is the way through which you can experience a more fulfilling life.

You are one of the best things you can invest in. Whether you are growing greater at your strengths, reducing your liabilities, or expanding what you are capable of, personal development is a path. This is not a journey anyone can take for us, we must find the courage to take it for our self. Push, again and again, beyond your resistance and doubt and you will soar.

Keep on pushing yourself to do better, to improve, to grow and develop today.

“If you try anything, if you try to lose weight, or to improve yourself, or to love, or to make the world a better place, you have already achieved something wonderful, before you even begin. Forget failure. If things don’t work out the way you want, hold your head up high and be proud. And try again. And again. And again!”
