Too Precious To Waste

“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.”

Marcus Aurelius

.
Our circumstances can certainly make life unhappy. But a part, often a big part of unhappiness, comes from our own thinking, behaviour and habits. Our most destructive daily habits that can create quite a bit of unhappiness within and in our own little world.

.
We so often fill our days with unnecessary stress and strife by focusing on the negative instead of the positive, taking part in mean-spirited and hurtful gossip, making mountains out of mole hills, or bickering over issues that in the larger scheme of things are inconsequential. I know only too well how easy it is to get swallowed up by focusing on the petty distractions, as I did this for too many years of my life.

.
What is on your list of petty negative things that you could stop doing from today? It does not build you up to tear others down. Make a decision to stop doing it, that is all it takes….. a commitment to change.

.
And when you make this decision, you feel lighter and more joyous in an instant. When you focus on those things that will truly make an impact on your life and those of others, your life improves. With an improved, more positive perspective, you become happier. The time that you spend on such pettiness  is too precious to waste.

.
Try to ignore the petty distractions and choose to focus on what really matters to you today.

.
”One way to boost our will power and focus is to manage our distractions instead of letting them manage us.”
Daniel Goleman
