The Best Version Of You

“The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself.”
Michel de Montaigne

Nothing is more important than how you feel and think about yourself. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. We can be too hard on ourselves. There are plenty of people willing to do that for us.

Self esteem really is the foundation of success and happiness. The more you can grow your self respect, the greater your chances are of achieving true success, becoming who you truly are.

Remember we are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be….. be true to yourself rather than what others want you to be….do not to undersell yourself.

When you do what you deep down think is the right thing to do then you raise and strengthen your self-esteem.

It might be a small thing like getting up from the couch and going to the gym. It could be to be understanding instead of judgmental in a situation. Or to stop feeling sorry for yourself and focus on the opportunities and gratitude for what you actually have.

One tip that makes it easier to stay consistent with doing the right thing is to try to take a few positive actions early in the day. Such as giving someone a compliment, eating a healthy breakfast and taking a brief walk….This sets the tone for the rest of your day.

And importantly try to spend more time with positive, uplifting people who have more human and kinder standards and ways of thinking about things. This will have a positive benefit on your out look.

By raising and keeping your self-esteem you feel more deserving of good things in life. And so you will go after them more often and with more motivated. You become happier. That has been my experience and it is why I write so much about self-esteem….work on becoming the best version of you today.

“One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others would want you to be, rather than being yourself.”
Shannon L. Alder
