Make It Happen

“Make the most of yourself….for that is all there is of you.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Lately I have had to deal with a lot of changes happening in my personal life. At first, describing them to my friends, I kept calling them endings, but afterwards I began to feel as if it was a process of renewal. There is a Chinese saying that goes ‘if the old doesn’t go, the new cannot come’. Keeping that in mind, I have begun to view these difficult events as a shedding of things for me to grow, to move forward.

If you view every challenge as an educational task and ask your self:  “What is this situation meant to teach me?” Every situation in our lives has a lesson to teach us. Some of these lessons include: To become stronger. To communicate more clearly. To trust your instincts. To express your love. To forgive. To know when to let go. To try something new.

If what you are doing is not working, have a rethink….. do things differently from what you have been doing. If you find yourself stuck in a rut, you are stuck because you are doing the same things over and over again in that same way.

If you really need a change, challenge yourself to do one thing differently. A small shift can create a different result, and little shifts build on to create bigger changes over time.

The past does not equal the future. The future can be so much better. Look at the past and learn from it, and then decide to do better. …..Commit to yourself to take small steps to change your life for the better, starting today.

“Stop believing the false hope that “if it’s meant to be” it will happen. If that were true, everyone would be content, wealthy, fit and have great relationships. ……You must plan, act, persevere, make better choices, know your value and never, ever accept less than you truly deserve. It’s not up to chance, it’s up to you.”
