Finding Your Way

“Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?”
Garth Nix

Life’s path often looks more like a maze than a straight line. Looking back we may see we have taken wrong turns, hit dead ends, lost time, meandered in wrong directions and twisted and turned at unexpected places. We thought we were going one way and had to head another.

.
There are moments when it is easy to focus on all of the things that have gone wrong. It is easy to focus on the loss and the heartbreak and the pain, but it is also important to remember all of the things that have gone right.

.
It is important to remember all of the positive experiences and friendships and growth and laughter we have gained. The things we would have never taken part in, lessons we would have never learned, and people we would have never met had we not veered off the desired path.

.
I believe that there are no wrong turnings in life, only paths we had not known we were meant to walk. Remember, we are all finding out way.
