Uniquely You

“You learn who you are by unlearning who they taught you to be.”
Nikki Rowe

Perhaps the most important realisation that we can make in our quest for personal growth is that there is no single formula that defines the path to personal success. We all have different goals and priorities, which means that different activities and attitudes will make us feel good about ourselves.

Self knowledge is one common goal that will help everyone achieve personal success. So many people are distracted by somebody else’s idea of what it means to be successful, and they are unaware of what is truly important to them. Realising what is truly important to us is a major step towards achieving personal success.

Confidence and self reliance are at the heart of finding yourself. If you do not have a solid sense of self worth, you will listen to what others have to say all the time and to be swayed by their insistence on what is wrong, right, and appropriate. Learn to believe in yourself and trust your own feelings. Then, you will come up with a structure to base your new sense of self on.

Knowing yourself is the process of – you – the human being – on deeper levels than the surface. It brings you face-to-face with your deep self-doubts and insecurities. It makes you take a serious look at the way you are living your life and put it to question.

Remember, knowing yourself means respecting your values in life, your beliefs, your personality, your priorities, your moods, your habits, your magnificent body, and your relationships.

You do not get to know yourself simply by growing up and growing old. Knowing yourself is a conscious effort; you do it with intention and purpose. Take a closer look today at what makes you uniquely you.

“Until you make peace with who you are, you’ll never be content with what you have.”
Doris Mortman
