Tolerating It

There is much in life that we just tolerate. Some of it we have to deal with (taxes, bad weather, traffic jams). But there is a large portion of stuff that we tolerate even when we do not have to. We step around things, overlook irritations, and mindlessly accept energy drains. Perhaps we have become so immune to these tolerations that we do not recognize the negative impact they have on us.

Tolerating can be a slow emotional suicide. It sucks the life out of us, drains our energy, numbs us, depletes us, and keeps us immobilized.

We sometimes confuse tolerating with accepting – we all know it is good to accept the things we can not change. If we make a clear distinction between what can be changed and what can not. It is astounding the kinds of life altering adjustments we are able to make when we understand the underlying reasons why we have been tolerating things.

We do not have to settle, it is simply a choice we make every day. When we address some of our bigger tolerations, we can completely change the course of our life and open doors to more happiness and inner peace that we did not know existed.

What are you presently tolerating in your life? Are you a few kilograms overweight? Maybe you are in a job you dislike? Or so disorganized you can not find anything, much less find some time to sit and relax? In order to be more happier, more productive, more resilient, and healthier, stop tolerating the things you can change. Begin to make some small changes today.
