A Splash Of Tranquility

‘Invite Tranquility -The sea,-something to look at. When we are angry.”
Reiko Chibo

I do not know about you, but my ‘to do list’ seems overwhelming at times. A ‘must do list’ that seems endless. There are times when I could use a quick splash of tranquility, a few precious moments to restore my well being  Peace comes from within.

Some years ago I did not think much about finding my inner calm. I was too busy – it did not even cross my mind that this was something I needed. When was the last time you felt a real sense of peace? Maybe finding tranquility is not a top priority for you right now. Or maybe you just do not know how to squeeze in one more thing.

Even though it often feels like there is chaos everywhere, you can find tranquility anytime you want. And it gets even easier the more you practice tapping into it. All you have to do is go inside yourself and uncover it.

Here are 3 simple steps – 1 minute each – that I use to rejuvenate and renew myself whenever I am in need of a few tranquil moments.

Close your eyes and slowly relax your body….beginning with your shoulders .Let go of all of the tension and stress you are feeling. Picture your body floating into a warm ocean wave. Feel it gently washing over and around you as you glide effortlessly through the water.

You have floated to the beach now. You feel serene and relaxed, soaking up the warm sun. Imagine the sound of the ocean waves, peacefully rolling in and out. Feel carefree, lighter, overflowing with tranquility.

Focus on your breathing. Slowing it down, breathing in throw your nose and out through you mouth, feeling your rig cage rise and fall with each breath. Slowly open your eyes.

Try to make it a regular habit to take a 3 minute break and fill your heart, mind and spirit with a natural calm. Give yourself with a few tranquil moments – from the inside out…. Remembering peace comes from within.

“It is in your power to withdraw yourself whenever you desire. Perfect tranquility within consists in the good ordering of the mind, the realm of your own.”
Marcus Aurelius
