Confidence Within

“The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment, it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone.”
Orison Swett Marde

Unfortunately, self doubt and poor self appreciation seem to go hand in hand with being human. Even if you have generally healthy and good self-esteem, you probably have times in your life when you feel down and have denigrating ideas and thoughts about yourself.

The first step in improving your self esteem is to pay attention to how you treat yourself. Use these ideas to get to grips with your self image:

Accept yourself as a complex individual who on occasions and in this specific respect has fallen short of your ideals. Look at possible ways for improvement. Make a plan of action.

Building healthy self esteem makes you work. Goals worth achieving takes dedication and hard work, and giving up is all too easy when the going gets tough. Keep exerting effort by reminding yourself to hold on to a positive, motivational attitude:

Take good care of yourself. Eat well, take regular exercise and get plenty of sleep. Make time for your hobbies and interests. Make your home a pleasant place to be in by decorating it with things you like and keeping on top of chores.

People with high self esteem feel good about themselves and appreciate their own worth. At the same time, they acknowledge their weaknesses but they do not allow those weaknesses to play an irrationally large role in their lives.

People with high self esteem are happier than those with low self worth. They are also more likely to take on difficult tasks and persevere in the face of failure. Therefore, they are more likely to succeed.

Look for ways to boost your self confidence today.

“I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence but it comes from within. It is there all the time.”
Anna Freud
