To Begin

When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. But when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are working to make things better.’
Elbert Hubbard

Sometimes we know we should be doing something, but we just don’t feel like doing anything. How can we get out off the rut?

Simply get started…this is by far the most important tip in this post I am writing today.
Sit down and start! Do you feel the ‘can’t be bothered’? Worrying about it won’t help. Reviewing your to-do lists won’t help. Only doing actually helps get the momentum going. And the only way to do something is to just start.

Stop thinking about how hard the task is going to be or how long it is going to take you. Just get started! Not starting is failing. Start telling yourself, “As soon as I start working, I’ll feel more motivated.” Because once you start, you will realise it is not nearly as hard as you thought it would be.

Break your goal up into small steps, begin with an easy thing to build confidence and build up motivation. Small steps moving you closer to your goal.

Commit to begin that thing you have been putting off for too long ….today.

“I have a plan, and I’m following it. I can focus on doing what is within my control, and I don’t need to be afraid of the results.”
