What Motivates You?

“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.”
Lou Holtz

Motivation awakens excitement, happiness, positive expectations and energy. Getting motivated is like starting the engine of a car and beginning to move.Getting motivated is one of the most important steps toward getting what you want. A persistent strong desire pushes your goal into results.

No matter where you are, keep moving forward. Life is action and movement. No matter what happens or where you are, keep moving forward.

Think of it like this, if you are in a slump, where you think things cannot get worse, only way to get out is moving. If you reach a point were everything seems to be going down the drain, move and you will get a new perspective.

If we are negative, that is the result we will get from our work. Having a strong/positive attitude allows you to brush off any distractions and focus on what is important to you.

We all find motivation in different ways Some are motivated by the carrot, which could in itself be anything from money, commendation, etc. Others are motivated by the stick, temporarily at least. The trick is to find that motivating factor for you.. What motivates you?

What small action can you take today that will move you forward? It might be something as simple as “do an internet search about selling my quilts online”. Take a small step, and get moving. Movement begets movement. Now take another small step. This is how change is created.

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. ”

    1. Thanks for sharing…..more money, more recognition, time off from work, promotions, opportunities for learning, or opportunities for socializing and relationships are all good motivators. But ultimately, long-term motivation comes from us motivating ourselves. Julia

      1. Hey Julia,

you are really enlightened. I like that long term motivation.More money for more freedom, more money for more time…
