Moving Forward

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.”
Steve Maraboli

Everything in life has to come to an end sometime. It is important to acknowledge and accept the end of an era – to walk away sensibly when something has reached its conclusion.

I learned that the urge to hold onto something that is not right only prevented me from discovering what is right. You are in the driving seat so if you do not let go, you do not forgive, and you do not move on, the only person who is responsible for the fact that you are trapped in a cycle of not being able to let go. It is you.

Closing the door, turning the page, moving on. It does not matter what you call it; what matters is that you leave the past where it belongs so you can enjoy the life that is still available to be lived. This ending is not the end, it’s just your life beginning again in a new way. It is a point in your story where one chapter fades into the next.

Take a look at the first page of this new chapter; it is a good one. Plan your next move…one small step at a time.

“Be Brave and Take Risks: You need to have faith in yourself. Be brave and take risks. You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.”
Roy T. Bennett
