Hard Times

“However mean your life is, meet it and live it.”
Henry David Thoreau

If I have learned anything from life, it is that sometimes, the darkest times can bring you to the brightest places. I have seen that the most toxic people teach the most important lessons; that your most painful struggles can give the most necessary growth; and that the most heartbreaking losses of friendship and love can make room for the most wonderful people.

I believe that what seems like a curse in the moment can actually be a blessing, and that what seems like the end of the road is actually just the discovery that we are meant to travel down a different path.

No matter how difficult things seem, there is always hope. And most importantly, regardless of how powerless you may feel or how horrible things seem, you can not give up. You need to keep going. Even when it is scary, even when all of your strength seems gone, keep picking yourself up and moving forward, one small step at a time. Because whatever you are battling at the moment, it will pass, and you will get through it.

The sooner you say ‘Yes, it happened, and there’s nothing I can do about it now,’ the sooner you can get on with your life. What we have to get over it, somehow we do. Learn from it and move on .

Hard times are like a washing machine, they twist, turn and knock us around, but in the end we come out cleaner, brighter and better than before.”
