”Whenever you feel uncomfortable, instead of retreating back into your old comfort zone, pat yourself on the back and say, “I must be growing,” and continue moving forward.”
T. Harv Eker
Do you impose limits on yourself? Perhaps you are not aware that you do? I know it is so easy to do.
.
If we are not careful, we can find ourselves stuck in life without even realising it due to imaginary, self-imposed boundaries.
.
It is all too easy for our own internal fears about our abilities or worthiness dictate our lives and stop us from growing. So how do we overcome these self-imposed limits and break through the barriers to achieve personal and professional growth?
.
You might think believing that you actually can do something would be the first step to overcoming your self-imposed limits. However, I think belief actually comes not with the commitment but once you have taken action toward your challenge.
.
Make the decision to tackle a challenge that scares you, and get it on your calendar. Ask yourself what is the worst that can happen if you take on this challenge? Dig deep to understand what your real fear is about conquering the challenge. I believe the way forward is to focus on the challenge, not dwell on your fear. Remembering the words of Stephen Richards “When you do what you fear most, then you can do anything.”
.
We gain a lot of self confidence by expanding our limits and boundaries and by removing our limiting beliefs we start living outside of our comfort-zone.
.
Commit to take action to do that scary thing today.
.
‘‘Do one thing every day that scares you.”
Eleanor Roosevelt
