“Our life is what our thoughts make it.”
Marcus Aurelius
We can choose our attitude, which dictates everything else. The mind reflects our body by responding to its levels of tension, rate of breath, and mental focus. Likewise our body mirrors our thoughts, feelings, mood, and responds to our state of mind, the questions we ask and the words we speak.
.
As the mind and body are intrinsically connected – meaning that one has a direct affect on the other – it becomes clear that if we directly and consciously take control of one, it will influence and change the other.
.
So by consciously adjusting how you use your body you can directly influence your state of mind, and dramatically transform your attitude.
.
Just imagine you are sitting there in a bad mood, shoulders hunched up, shallow breathing and frowning. Try it now to experience how it influences your state of mind. And then do the opposite: stand up tall and put a smile on your face. Take some deep, strong breaths and stretch your arms into the air. Notice how you feel better.
.
Before an important meeting remember to physically pump your self up. Your body is the best tool for changing your attitude in an instant. And remember , your perspective changes when you consciously work on yourself. physically and mentally. Make the choice today to see things from a positive perception.
‘‘I discovered I always have choices and sometimes it’s only a choice of attitude.”
