Powerful Thinking

”We are stronger than we think. We have emotional, spiritual and even physical resources at our disposal. We may get knocked down, but we don’t have to stay down.”
Steve Goodier

Much of the time we allow the world’s opinions and beliefs to define us. When we allow others to define our actions, our lives and often our future, we become victims of these views. And because of that, we often believe we are, limited, little beings who cannot expect much from life.

It never feels good to indulge in powerless behaviour, it saps our energy, it drains our sense of confidence, it degrades our character, it hacks away at our integrity and leaves us feeling miserable . And still a lot of us keep choose to indulge in such behaviours of powerlessness. Yet behavours like jealousy, seeking approval, chronic complaining, playing the blame game, self-pity, power-games (seeking control through imposition), emotional neediness, are all aspects of powerless behavior.

A passive mind does not consider new and exciting possibilities. A passive mind will not think about breaking its own limiting norms. A passive mind can not grow and become greater, it can only wallow through and regurgitate its own past. A passive minds merely observe and comment.

Nobody is immune to having a passive mind, and nobody is unable to change. We all have the ability to overcome this life-sapping way of thinking. But with a small shift in perspective, you can really take control of your life.

Here is an example:

Passive thinking: I should exercise today, but I’m a little tired and, oh, maybe I should do laundry. I should have done it yesterday.

Powerful thinking: I will exercise today no matter what.
The Difference: Passive thinking is predictably unpredictable, distracted, more concerned with the past and future than right now, and it is easily influenced by internal and external factors.

Powerful thinking is simple, clear, concise, and focused on making valuable decisions in the present moment, and it is not easily influenced at all by external factors. The only internal factor that matters to a powerful thinker is their choice, what they decide to do.

Powerful thinkers actively shape their lifestyle by making firm choices. They are the drivers. Choose to do new things, make courageous choices and take yourself forward. You have the power to make your life your own and in doing so raising your self-respect, self-esteem, and self-confidence…..Starting today.

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal.’
