I have realised that whilst mindfulness can help us feel a greater sense of happiness, life satisfaction generally requires a balance of being and goal setting.

There is a reason much research shows that goal-setting leads to happiness: recognising our potential and then utilising it gives us a sense of empowerment, growth, and pride. Life happens now, but our lives are more than any isolated experience.You owe it to yourself to question what it is you really want to do, and how you are going to do it.

A priority for me is my health and fitness. So often put making money and getting the promotion ahead of taking care of our body. Yet working on our health and fitness actually helps us to achieve all of those things and more…..Your mindset, emotional health and well-being all are boosted when you take your health and fitness to the next level.

Stop and look around you, appreciate what is. Whether first thing in the morning, during your lunch break or in the evening, give yourself 20 minutes and walk in your neighbourhood, through a park, get outside to appreciate nature.

But remember, while enjoying the present, that the future is ours to create. Our goal every day should be to improve and enhance the quality of our lives. Commit to yourself to making plans for a better tomorrow……. you will be glad you started today.
