Positive Energy

”Stay positive, all other choices are pointless punishments to your psyche.”
Joe Peterson

Every moment you have a choice – to be at peace or to be in resistance. When you are at peace we generate positive energy and when we resist we create negative vibes that reflect back on our well-being.

We often unconsciously generate negativity in ourselves by negative thoughts, words and actions. And some of us are sponges when it comes to attracting and absorbing negative energies from others

How do we create negative energy? We make unqualified judgments, deciding if a situation or a person is good or bad, right or wrong. Passing these judgments requires emotional involvement and this practice only creates negative energy.

Negative thoughts, which lead to negative emotions, which lead to negative actions, which lead to negative reactions to the negative actions which leads to the cycle repeating. Making it a viscous cycle.

Regardless of how negative energies surround and fill us, it helps to find a way to release them. Find an ‘alone‘ place – physically if possible; within yourself if not. Close your eyes and relax. Connect to nature, plants have a great way of absorbing our negative energy. When we dwell on the negatives, we attract negatives – sapping our energy and strength in the process.

The good news is positive energy works the same way. Both are contagious, and spread rapidly to influence anyone around us. One way to achieve this is to be in nature, looking at the stars, the open sky, the trees, the insects, feeling the wind and mindfully listening into the sounds.

Free yourself from past resentments and disappointments about who you were yesterday. Stop engaging in self-blame and guilt for past faults and choose to learn from them. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Revel in it. Be positive and see the benefits to your life.

A great way to attract positive energy is to feel gratitude as gratitude automatically shifts your mindset to one of abundance and positivity. Remember, just bringing a smile to your face starts to relax you and makes you feel good. Such is the power hidden in a simple smile.

Marcus Aurelius
