”Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.”
Omar Khayyam
The secret of happiness is of growing importance to more of us , as increased financial security has given many the time to focus on self-growth. No longer ‘hunter-gatherers’ concerned with where to find the next kill, we worry instead about how to live our best lives.
Scientists have come up with what they say is a formula for happiness. If people focus on the six specific factors identified they will feel good.
The formula for feeling good = (Mx16 + C + Lx2) + (Tx5 + Nx2 + Bx33).
Where;
(M) Live in the moment. It as been found that people spend almost 50 percent of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they are doing — and that mind-wandering typically makes one unhappy.
(C) Be curious. The more curious you are, the more possibilities you will open throughout your lifetime. Open your eyes and look around. How many blind assumptions have you made, what do you want to know more about
(L) Do something you love. As David Frost said ‘Don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.’
(T) Think of others. There are a million acts of kindness we can do daily… and none have to be complicated or expensive. We can simply smile at others, take or send a message of appreciation to someone who has touched our lives in some way.
(N) Nurture relationships, Connecting with family by letting go of little grievances, spending time together, and expressing love and compassion to one another.
(B) Take care of your body. Your body and your mind are connected. Being active makes us happier as well as being good for our physical health and has a huge effect on our mental wellbeing
Remember that your happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. Choose to create more happiness in you life…starting today
“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.”
