To Move Forward

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.”
Steve Maraboli

Do you ever feel like what you are doing is nothing more than spinning your wheels in the mud? Maybe you are stuck in a boring job that makes you money but does not give you any joy.

So how can we unstick out lives? First and foremost, give up the excuses you keep telling yourself. Because all the excuses and explanations in the world will not do you any favours.

No one else can succeed for you on your behalf. The life you live is the life you build for your self. There are so many possibilities to choose from, and so many opportunities for you to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Now is the moment to actually step forward.

You can make your future different. Regret, guilt, and fixation on the bad things that happened in your past can prevent you from moving forward in the present and into the future. You can no longer control the past, but you can prevent the past from controlling you. Let go of the past and forgive yourself and those who have hurt you.

Learn from your past, appreciate your present but focus on your future. Thinking ahead to the life you want to have will give you something to work towards, and having something to pursue will make it easier to walk forward. Concentrate on one definite goal and aim high. A definite goal, broken down into small steps towards your target.

But most importantly, believe in yourself. Be confident and be brave. Think about who you want to be and begin to work towards becoming that person.

Commit to pushing yourself forward. You will look back one year from now and be glad you started today.

Be Brave and Take Risks: You need to have faith in yourself. Be brave and take risks. You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.”
Roy T. Bennett

  1. I am very much in agreement with what you have written, because I think I have understood that it is better to let go of the unpleasant things one has incurred in life. Better to forget otherwise you live in hatred and resentment .
