Taking That Chance

“A lifetime isn’t forever, so take the first chance, don’t wait for the second one! Because sometimes, there aren’t second chances! And if it turns out to be a mistake? So what! This is life! A whole bunch of mistakes! But if you never get a second chance at something you didn’t take a first chance at? That’s true failure.”
C. JoyBell C.

So many people in life have settled for a life or a lifestyle or an existence that is not fulfilling, where they are unhappy or even that they hate simply because they have been unwilling to take risks.

Life is about taking chances. That leap of faith into the uncertainty. It frightens us all, but what will we ever get from life if we do not take a chance? The difficult part is finding a balance, knowing when to take the chance and when to take a step back. Knowing when to keep pushing forward in persistence versus when to just let go. It is a balance of head and heart, of thoughts and feelings, of doing what is “right” or doing what you ‘need’ to do.

It is about not taking the chance and living with the regret that you will never know what might have been. Or taking the chance, taking a risk, really living your life, and then accepting the path where that chance may lead.

When I look back on my own life, I see choices that I made that some may say were poor decisions. I do not regret a single one of those decisions. They have all taught me lessons, guided me along this journey to where I now stand today.

Can you live with the knowledge that you have taken a chance, regardless of its consequences? Or can you live the rest of your life wondering ‘what if‘?

Be honest with yourself. Can you live without taking that chance?  Say ‘yes‘ today….it could change all your tomorrows.

“Probably some of the best things that have ever happened to you in life, happened because you said yes to something. Otherwise things just sort of stay the same.”
Danny Wallace
