To Be Happy

“Happiness depends upon ourselves.”
Aristotle

Happiness is an emotion that most of us today are continually striving for. In the business of our everyday schedule, we are becoming zombies, which is not helping any of us. International Day of Happiness is important in reminding all of us to find happiness in the small and beautiful things around us. Smile at someone today!

.
I have seen that people get lost when they think of happiness as a destination. We are always thinking that someday we will be happy. You know, we will get that car or that job or that person in our lives that fixes everything.

.
We are happy when things go the way that we want them to, when we accomplish something, when we achieve a goal, when we win a game in a competition, or get a promotion. When things do not go the way that we want them to we are unhappy. When we do not get what we want and expect, we become disappointed.

.
It does not really matter the circumstances in our life, we have still got the choice to live an unhappy life, at the mercy of our emotions, events, which could be quite miserable sometimes, or we can choose to live a happy life, be a happy person, whatever the circumstances are, the choice is ours.

.
Our thoughts create happiness. You find what you look for in life. If you look for the good, you will find it. If you look for bad, you will find that too…..Choose to see the good.

.
You can start to be happy any moment you want, all you need to do is make a decision, choose to be happy, write it down on paper in capitals: “I decide I want to be happy”, from now on I am going to be happy person, no matter what”.

Remember happiness or unhappiness is a matter of your choice. Wishing you a happy International day of happiness.

.
“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.”
Marcus Aurelius
